Freelancing
We have a vast number of freelancers on our books and we’re always looking out for fresh talent to join us. Whether you want to submit the occasional article, provide unique illustrations, or create craft projects to be featured in our magazines – we’d like to hear from you. To make your pitch, please get in touch with the following people, depending on your area of expertise:
Journalists and Writers
Please contact the editor of any of our magazines that you’re particularly interested in working with. Full details of our portfolio can be found at www.futureplc.com. Alternatively, contact details can be found in the flannel panel of the relevant magazine.
Formal qualifications are not essential, as we’re really looking for talent, enthusiasm, expertise and an ability to write. Examples of published material or (at the very least) copy written in the magazine’s style or format are essential as part of your application.
Sub-Editors
Please contact Josse Vander-Bilson, our Editorial Production Studio Manager, via jvanderbilson@futurenet.co.uk
Please note, we can only consider applications from people with previous sub-editing or newsstand magazine production experience, and knowledge of InDesign.
Art Editors, Designers and Illustrators
For our Bath-based titles, please contact Nicky Gotobed, Head of Art in the Art Studio, via nbartlett@futurenet.co.uk
For our London-based titles freelance designers should approach the art editor of the relevant magazine – full details of our portfolio can be found at www.futureplc.com
Please note that for designers and art editors, we can only consider applications from people with previous newsstand magazine design experience and knowledge of InDesign.
